In 2005 DRS was hired by Race Prep Motorsport four car Porsche 996 team to build exhaust systems to pass the strict sound level requirements of Laguna Seca. The challenge was to do this without reducing power or torque. DRS was able to reduce the sound level and gain performance. DRS also fitted sensors for the AIM Data Systems used for collecting chassis and engien data. And for the finishing touch, DRS worked with GIAC for custom engine mapping of the required OEM Bosch ECU to extract every potential amount of power while also increasing fuel efficiency, as consumption efficiency is equally important to performance in endurance racing.
